Around the house
Well it’s always nice to sleep in your own bed. Sunday I got up and finished reading my Book of Mormon in Portuguese for the month of April. For May I am going to read it out loud. That should help me in my pronunciation. Grandma and I put on our Sunday clothes and watched the sacrament meeting and the tabernacle choir broadcast before having our own sacrament meeting. It is Sadie’s birthday so for lunch we went to Logan’s place and ate and had cake. Paul and Janette white visited us for a while and Trae rode his bike over for a short visit. Monday morning when I got up the news is still gloom and doom. If the news people are right we need to stay in at least another year and the states that are opening are all going to die. I spent the day around the house not doing much.

Lawnmower blues
Well I am slow to blog again. The weather has been wonderful. We had a great weekend. We called the grandkids and their parents after we had church with Logan’s family. We had a nice Sunday. The next day Monday we walked and spent the time at home. In the evening Jennifer the daughter of my nephew Dale got married. They were married outside in the park where last summer we had our family campout. It was cool to get out of the house and see people. They had hamburgers and other food after and it was a good time. We came home and grandma and I watched the voice. Today April 21 was a beautiful day. I tried to fix the lawnmower and after two trips to town and two different belts I had it moving better than it has for years. I mowed the lawn we went for a walk and it was a good day. There was a pretty sunset so I included a picture. The farmers are planting potatoes fast and furious. Spring is really here. Thanks for all the comments good job Caleb letting Carter send one. The boat is a piece of junk.

Still staying in
Now it has been 4 days since I wrote anything. Life has gotten into a rut. With the stay at home order being extended and the not so nice weather not much is happening. I have stopped watching the news as it is totally depressing. They take away all hope. So on to more positive stuff. We have had more time together. Grandma has been studying português with real intent. She has made a huge leap in her ability. Meanwhile I am going the other way. I am committed to studying more. Today was one of those shirt sleeve weather days. The farmers are doing really good. It is April 17 and we have been home now almost as long as we were missionaries. Here are two pictures that are interesting. In Soda Sprints cemetery there is a Laura Mecham nicknamed six shooter sal. laura Mecham Lind only has a five shooter.

Biker girls
Well this time I skipped several days. It is getting more likely that this will continue for some time to come. When out for a drive I said that if I owned a cabin I would go spend the isolation period in it. Then I realized that since we had no interaction with anyone we were more alone right here at home than in a cabin. The weather has turned off cold. It is hard to want to go out in it. I hope to quit complaining about being stuck at home and instead be happy and start doing things that will be fun and beneficial. There is always something I could be doing. I have pictures of Ashley, Megan, and Angela riding their bikes. All ten of my granddaughters can now ride bikes.

Good times
Well once again two days have gone by. We sure have nice weather. Yesterday I fired up the old white truck and went for a drive. It still is fun to drive that big truck. We were able to have a zoom meeting with some of them from Portugal today. It made me feel good. We hope to continue having these meetings each week as long as we can. What a nice walk we had. Getting to see our old friends made the day go fast. Today we had português class. It is still difficult for me to speak as well as I want. I am not sure I am getting any better. This afternoon I went shooting with Alan. I didn’t shoot too good but it was pleasant. After I came home we went for a walk this is the fourth day in a row. We are doing good. Where we went shooting someone got rid of an old boat right where we shoot. People don’t have any respect.

Nice weather
The weather has been really nice the last two days. We spent some time yesterday cleaning after all we have been home three weeks. It was garbage day so I gathered up all I could find. I even cleaned out one of the lockers in the basement. In the afternoon it was really nice so I pruned the apple tree. They always look so bad at first but they do better when trimmed up. We went for a walk and then we watched tv together. I know it sounds routine, and sometimes it is. Today was even nicer. I cleaned a little in my shop. I started up my white truck. I let it run for a while to get everything warmed up. It was so nice we opened the windows and let the house air out. We went for another nice walk. The missionaries from Portugal contacted us via email to have us participate in the English classes using online meeting. Cool huh? Well I finish of the last of the mtc pictures. One of Moses looking at the galaxies, and Nephi looking from the mountain back at his family’s camp.

Still hanging in there
Well it has been two days so it is time to blog again. When we got up yesterday it was snowing. There wasn’t a lot of accumulation but it was miserable weather all day. We had português classes today and that went well. Next we received a phone call from Elder and Sister Hall who remained in Portugal. They shared with us the current conditions there, and they remain optimistic about us going back. So far all is well there. Everyone is staying in over there. Today we started out getting to see some of our grandkids. It was great to see Sadie, Hunter, Trae, and JJ. Ashley called and we visited for quite a while. She posted comments almost each blog and I really appreciate it. I took these pictures yesterday during the snow storm. A quick correction it is Ether chapter 10 that covers along period in sort of a routine way.

Hoarders?
Yesterday it was nasty weather. We got some encouragement from the announcement about missionary service and when we can return to Portugal. We are eligible to return as soon as this virus clears up. So we had a português class. Today I went with Logan and looked at a couple of jobs. Grandma and I went to town. It was the first time for us in walmart in two months. It was amazing to see so many items, but also there were some empty shelves. There were signs limiting how many items you can buy. We bought a lot of items but I noticed some people were buying cart loads of stuff. I decided the difference between a hoarder and a prepper is timing. If you buy items over a long period it’s okay until there are problems then you become a hoarder and those who try to stock up at the last get in trouble to. So I guess you buy storage items and then keep it to yourself. I guess it will help if you complain about it maybe no one will notice a garage full of toilet paper. Today the pictures are of Joseph Smith as a young man, and when he was in Liberty jail.
