Friday August 5

Well today we made up for yesterday.

I was up early and walked down to the park. There is a guy living there lately, sleep in a hammock with his scooter close by. The hammock part reminded me of packing in on a hunting trip.

We le on ourr walk and this street guy said goodbye and before you could think grabbed grandma and kissed her on the forehead and then gave me a bearhug.

We walked down along the ocean the skies were cloudy but it was getting hot. We saw a lot of the old sites. We headed up to mercado de graças or the farmer’s market for our last purchase. They have this huge festival going to happen tomorrow and especially tomorrow night. Decorations are everywhere and still expanding. Kegs and kegs of beer, soda pop, and water.

The big ball is supposed to be the moon. It keeps a large crew of men just putting up and taking down decorations. We got home and went out to lunch with a member. Next it was off to Ribeira Grande.

Not sure what the motorcycle mounted on the wall is all about. The  rest of the day pretty much canceled, so we packed one more suitcase. We decided to walk down to see if the lights were on.

We walked a lot today, makes up for yesterday. We love you all.
