First time for everything

Well today is Sunday. I woke up early about 4 am and I couldn’t get back to sleep so I read my Book of Mórmon for a couple of  hours. Ps yes I realize Mórmon looks odd but my iPad tries to write in português all the time and I am not real sure how to stop it, so we have to deal with it. Now back to the story, so I also was assigned by our tutor to listen to some conference talks so I had time for that as well. Realizing that today is fast and testimony meeting I helped grandma prepare a simple testimony in português in case we had time to use. The members of the branch go up and sit on the front row and take their turn. We had another missionary couple who is part of the district presidency attending and he, his wife, the two young missionaries and many members bore their testimonies. With a couple of minutes to go grandma and I headed up grandma did great. Everyone was really listening, then it was my turn. I was so scared, I only hope I did okay. The rest of church went by fast. The sister who taught Sunday school was very well prepared. We came on home and ate a nice lunch and even got a nap. We are starting to sound really old, sleeping in the middle of the day is just wrong. Later the elders called, one of them is having trouble with allergies and a bad headache. We went to their apartment to take him some medicine and to give him a blessing. I made lasagna for supper, the frozen kind you heat up in the microwave, it was pretty good. It rained most of the day, but never very hard. You grandkids better be proud of grandma it took a lot of courage to get up in front of people and talk in português. Sorry no pictures today. Tomorrow is p day so maybe we can get some pictures.

Good job Marcia (and Reed) on bearing your testimonies. I don’t even like doing it in English 😉! It sounds like you guys are getting into a nice routine and enjoying the beautiful wet weather. Hope you have a great week!

Way to go dad and mom for sharing your testimonies on your first fast Sunday in Portugal! I would have been nervous too. I love you both!

P.S. I wish could have been there to hear you both speak Portuguese! Hopefully I'll get the chance when you return home!
