Monday April 4

Today is p-day but we had a bit of a different day. The missionaries from ribeira grande had a request for a Book of Mormon out in the town of furnas. Since this is a bit of a drive and we go through an area that has things we haven’t seen before we decided Monday would be best allowing us to stop and take the scenic route. So on the way we visited White Castle.

Grandma and I have been here before so we knew it would be nice. She had me sing a little with the elders and by myself but that is not for here. The missionaries loved it saying it was their favorite place yet. Along the roads they have these concrete picnic tables and benches. They look nice but are always covered in moss looking like a green tablecloth. No one ever uses them.

We saw some strange looking trees.

We stopped off and they delivered the book then we tried to visit some members to determine if they are still at the address we have. We even went on out to Povacao and checked out an address. It was a beautiful drive the weather was nice and the traffic was light. The flowers are starting to bloom more all the time.

We drove back to ribeira grande taking a back road we had never traveled before. Lots of neat stuff along the way.

We came back at 1:00 and ate at he cafe we usually eat at on p- day. The elders walked down to the atm to get money so we stopped by a souvenir store for a minute. For some reason they like Native American stuff so you see dream catchers all over, some pretty fancy.

You know you have turned into a regular customer when the waitress just tells you what you want to eat and drink instead of asking. After lunch we drove the elders over to get propane tanks switched out as they have had cold showers for a week. Timing is everything and as we were heading home the elders from Ponta Delgada called and they were at a park on our way home so we were able to give them a ride home. It all worked out well. We called Hunter and talked a while then had our two zoom meetings. Life is good. We love you all.
