Saturday April 2

 

Today is conference but first we have the self reliance class on zoom with the other island. I have prepared the best I can, but this is a class on recognizing things that trigger bad moods, negative thoughts, self esteem, and such. Anyone who knows me realizes these are not my best attributes. I am more of a suck it up buttercup guy or get a bigger hammer. But 2 hours later it was done and it maybe went alright. We stopped off at the store on the way home to buy grandma some hair color. She would look good with maroon or pink hair but she bought the same old same old. We came home and I cooked for the meal that will take place between the 2 sessions. I made stroganoff and baked brownies from a mix we got on sale at the American store.

Now conference starts at 4:00 here so the meal between happens at 6:00 . The guy in the picture had been inactive for a long time years after being accused of something and having the members tell him to not come to church again. I still wonder what you can do to be so punished, and wonder who would have the authority to tell someone not to attend. But he came he said no one would sit by him so when he sat down by himself we sat by him. He stayed and ate and people talked to him, at least some did. Small steps. The young people visited and played games between the sessions.

The next session started at 8:00 and was difficult for me to remain alert. Hard chairs and masks help. We finished up and came home. Good day. We love you all.
