Wednesday April 8. It has been 4 months today since we started our mission. Normal arrival at work and started planning next weeks trip. For lunch today the education department wanted us to go with them. It was steak and potato salad and onion rings. Excellent. We hurried back to visit a project way on the far side of town in the poorest part. It is a school facility where the kids start at 4 months old, and they even have senior citizen classes. 1500 students. We are helping with a construction project I could have helped buuut.
The one old guy started talking to me and he showed me all the stuff. It’s the same in any language. He is 62 doesn’t want to ever retire so I told him come serve a mission and he can do my job. He said good idea. If he contacts me about it we can help with the details like missionaries and baptism. No problem. Then we toured the school. It was the most fun we have had yet. Little babies. Toddlers, 5 and 6 year olds all happy smiling hugging grandma. One even had blue eyes like me. Never seen that before. What fun. We are going back in June.
We left kind of late but that’s okay except the traffic was stop and go. We had to cross through the center of town. Amazing views.
They have built an overhead highway just for buses. Sure helps with the congestion.
We arrived home very late so off to bed. What a fun day. Love to all.
