Botanical garden

 Wednesday April 15.

Today is our last visit to a project here in Curitiba. First we had a great breakfast here in the hotel. Both days have been different and so far I have been impressed.

There are always street cleaners out sweeping early here more often than São Paulo. We caught an uber for what should have been a short trip but due to construction he couldn’t get where he wanted to be so he tried going around construction barriers. This soon turned bad and for a while I thought he would try and drive over them but he turned around and retreated. After a couple more tries we found a way to go out and pass the construction zone correctly. We arrived at the project which was a school for disabled students from 6 to 73. They are there from 7 until 5:30 during the week. Most are in wheelchairs and need total attention. They do a great job. After a short tour we were good to go.

The local firefighters were out front for a scheduled visit taking pictures and talking to the kids.when we got our ride they had made a loop and came back by with lights and sirens.

We had the driver drop us off at the botanical garden. This was on the list of things to see. It is huge and has some great views. At the entrance is a cafe featuring super heroes.

There was a gift shop grandma bought a few things. They had venus flytraps and some other bug eating plants.

We saw a capiveira the guine pig like animal about the size of a cat. I think the jungle people eat them. There were cool cactus and a huge black bee. An active beehive.

I really like the pineiro trees a pine tree like an umbrella.

We came back for lunch then grandma took a nap and I read for a while.

For dinner we went to the food court in the mall and ate at China Food. A small buffet but the food was good. There was a restaurant called Mustang Sally.

It was getting late so we caught an uber back and I went to bed early. This traveling is a bit of work. Fun to try different foods on someone else’s dime, but I miss the simpler things once in a while. Love to all.

So many beautiful plants! The cactus is impressive and I love the plant that has red and yellow flowers. They look like birds. I think it’s neat the school had the fire fighters come visit in their truck just like the school here at home does. You both look good! I’m glad to see dad in some of the pictures. Love you both!
