One more time

And so lt begins again. Last night June 16 we were set apart as missionaries after visiting with our stake president for an hour and a half. He sure is a nice person. We spent several hours preparing to leave it is hard to just start throwing food out till the fridge is empty. I was able to-get 4 hours sleep, but Marcia stayeds up doing things it is hard to leave aclean home that has to last more than a year. Hunter and Julianna helped us to the pocatello airport and saw us off on the 6 a.m. flight to SLC. Now we have a four hour layover. So many people are kind and want to ask about us the adventure has began. Well we got on the flight to Atlanta next and it seemed to take longer tha the other times we flew through there. There was a young sister missionary traveling to Brazil. Small world. When we arrived in Atlanta we were supposed to have plenty of time to get to our next flight, but it was a train ride and an electric razor ride away. In fact we went as far as you can travel without going outside. It was a huge plane 9 people to the row. What a ride. 8 and 1/2 hours later we arrived in Paris. We wanted to grab something to eat, but the plane was late and we had to go through tsa and passport imigrations and Grandma’s bag sidelined us for a while. In the end we ran and had a few minutes to spare. Then we got in line to take off. I think the french can screw up anything. After a 2 hour flight we arrived in Lisbon. We waited for our luggage and it didn’t show. It had been sent to Amsterdam and would take 2 or 3 hours so we visited with the mission president and they took us to an apartment where we took a shower and had some yogurt. They had our luggage and we hurried through tsa and again hurried to our flight. But it was the last time. The plane wasn’t too full so Grandma sat by the window with her feet in my lap and slept. We were the last ones off the plane and the last ones to get our bags. We next were the last in line to fill out the paperwork for a COVID-19 test. After an invasive nose swab and a throat swab that caused me to try and bring up my last food we were driven to our new apartment. The Elders had ran the bags over and unloaded them while we were waiting to be probed. Now we started to unpack and settle in. We didn’t get anything to eat and it was well past midnight when we went to bed.
