This is for Thursday July 15. Todays walk was supposed to take us to another garden to walk through. Upon arrival the gates were closed and would not open for a half hour. We went on down the road exploring another new location. The part of town we were entering was made up of high end businesses with fancy showrooms and nice apartments above. The people were dressed a little nicer the yards were nice. Upscale. We were up about the highest part of the city and I began watching for the church that was on the hill from yesterday. We found it but it was only visible between two trees.
Pictures of flowers a sign with grandma, megan and mckenna’s initials
on it and we were back just as the garden was supposed to open. No joy. We sat on the steps of a church for a while and then gave up. I took a picture of the food bank and home for breakfast. First mistake of the day. At noon we were headed out for lunch with members. They bought us lunch at an all-you-can-eat restaurant and even though I didn’t eat all on my plate after eating breakfast I was so full I was almost in trouble. The ladies had brought grandma flowers
One of the things we had was octopus stew. Not so much.
The gals tried to talk together and I thought they did okay. Everyone loves grandma. Yes it is true. Next home for a bit of a break and then off to visit members. Now we were in a section of town not so nice. The members wear a little older clothes they are my kind of people. We visited several families as elder bernardo the elder from Portugal is being transferred tomorrow. Lots of pictures for him and some members cried. For supper we had supper at the branch president’s house, he had rebuilt an old house and was still building as he went. The suspended d concrete floors and beams and poured stairway is impressive I will need to take pictures if we are invited back. The meal was all cooked in one pot like those milk can meals. Beef, sweet potatoes, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, sausage, chicken. It was the best meal yet. Pineapple upside down cake for desert. Then off to visit one more member they have a grape arbor all one plant, or tree over 30 years old with more grapes than you can imagine I have no idea how the rafters can support so much weight.
The roof is bigger than my garage but since it was dark it’s hard to get a nice picture. Finally home. I feel like I do after Thanksgiving dinner. Love you.

Mmmmm octopus!! The grapes look good. How would it be to walk out and enjoy grapes fresh from the vine.
I love the flowers in grandma's bouquet. The grapes look good, did you say that they're on rafters above your head like a roof? The squid looks okay I'm not sure I would eat it though! The view of the church between the trees is awesome! I love you guys too, Love Ashley!
I would love to eat some of those grapes and the pineapple. Yummy. Not so sure about the octopus soup though. I'm glad you were well fed!
