It’s p-day. The weather forecast was for rain later in the day, but why wait? We picked up the 2 missionaries living on this side of the island and pretty much repeated the trip from 2 Mondays ago that we did with the other side of the island elders. We stopped at all the view points and took pictures.
We continued on down to the lakes at 7 cities. The clouds were low I don’t know if they are clouds or fog but it is wet, and they blow by, kind of creepy.
We drove up on top and hiked the trail to the lookout, but the clouds were so dense all around us visibility was near zero. For some reason the elders still loved it. I don’t think they got out much in their former areas.
The forests here remind me of the moon of Endor on starwars and the real short guy in the green suit sort of reminds me of an ewok. We headed out I was wearing my paracord bracelets from Ashley.
We went back to town met up with the other elders had lunch shopped for food then left for a trip with the elders from the other side. We went to the city called french town. It has the church with all the stairs and the volcano crater just off shore we visited by boat last year.
The elders wanted to pet a calf lying chained up and asked if I thought they could, I sent them to do it they haven’t had much contact with animals.
Coming down the mountain there were men forming up a concrete retaining wall. They were cutting kickers out off small logs using a hand saw.
We came back home had two zoom meetings and called Hunter. Good day lots of things to see. I really enjoyed standing on the coast watching the waves. Not something you get to do much of in Pingree Idaho. We love you all.
Time for another map.
Sete cidades is seven cities with the two lakes separated by a narrow channel with a bridge across located upper left.Ths narrowest part of the island has Ponta Delgada or narrow point, where we live and where two of the missionaries live at the bottom of the map.
Ribeira Grande or big river is across at the top of the narrow part with two missionaries there.
Villa Franco do campo or french village or town in the country is on the bottom off the map to the right of Ponta Delgada.
