Sunday January 16

This is a picture taken at the start of Sunday school, we sat on the end of the row and the others joined us. It was a nice sunny day, no rain but cool for her 57. The temperature often times remains the same all day with less than 2 degrees fluctuation. So it was nice to remove the jacket indoors but keep it outside. I know I am turning soft. The virus had more people staying home as they tested positive. We still had a normal attendance but it has stayed stagnant for a while. I made my first from scratch spaghetti. Sort of okay. The missionaries ate mountains of it but I had way over produced.  We have to give a ride to the elders living in Ribeira grande on Sunday as the buses don’t run much on Sunday. Going to their apartment we drive right along the beach and being on the other side of the island from where we live it is nice to see the waves. That side of the island is the one that gets the best waves and our side being more protected has the harbor where all the ships come in. Most of the fishing happens on the side with the waves,  and they have built harbors for the fishing boats. Some day I must go there real early and watch them either go out or come back in, as I am not sure of the schedule. After dropping off the missionaries we stopped and watched the waves for a while.  We came home and called all the family. Still the best part of the week. We are doing well, the people here are friendly, the food is fun, and the language is at times easier. We love you all.
