Sunday January 9

Today being Sunday the blog is a little bland. We left early and picked up the missionaries from Ribeira Grande and we came back to the church. Surprisingly we had a good turn out. The family visiting from Provo Utah for the last six months were talking as it is their last Sunday here before going back. The parking lot of the church is supposed to be entered  coming from the direction that allows for a right hand turn. The family from Utah always turn in from the left there being little traffic on Sunday. This their last week they got caught and the police swarmed him and gave him a ticket. The car is the unmarked police car and the police are in the yellow vest. Approximately $150.
We had a good meeting. Then I put together a large stew and grandma helped making garlic toast and we had all four missionaries over to lunch. These are big boys they ate more each one than grandma and I could eat in two meals impressive. We live them coming over and would be offended if they didn’t eat. We took the missionaries back home and the ocean was really high surf  on their side of the island.
It truly is beautiful. Every time it stops raining we see the nicest rainbows today one appeared while driving and the point where it touched the ground was not very far off and appeared to follow along the ground by us for several minutes. (No pot of gold). We had several meetings tonight one not so much one quite good. We came home called everyone and it was late when we got to bed. One of those days. Busy, tiring, fun times, and just routine. Sort of like life. We love you all.

That ocean is just so beautiful, and those waves are looking good! Sounds so cool driving by a rainbow! Love you both! Love Ashley!
