Today was a busy sort of different day. I walked first off then since we wanted to check out the library to see if we could find death records we headed down there. It is kind of neat. Like all public buildings here in Portugal you have a receptionist/security type guy first then walking through rock floored hallways you come to a huge reading room, then we were directed up the elevator to an area where the stored records. Here a nice lady tried to help but their records are not recent enough. She had the head librarian come and help me. They were all very kind and it was sort of fun. We took a short tour, very large old rock building on the inside yet nice looking on the outside. I took a few pictures of old books in their displays.
Notice the book 1984 in Português. Next we walked around the area on our way home. The day was a little muggy. Now after lunch off to villa franca to the registrar office and after a little time and a lot of kindness I had the two death certificates from there. We visited with the member we visit each two weeks, then after dropping off the elders from Ponta Delgada it was off to Ribeira Grande to visit a member who needs help getting food. After that visit it was off to home and supper. Fairly good day. Strange I walked so much. It didn’t seem like I would and I didn’t plan to. We love you all.
