Wednesday June 29

Another one of those perfect weather days. We decided to forego the walk this morning as we had district meeting and would be walking some throughout the day. This gave us time to prepare and we were ready early. We walked over to the church and this purple bush is the same one we used each Sunday to take grandma’s picture. It finally is getting flowers and will only fill in more each day until late winter. We had a good meeting then we went for a walk in the garden just down the road.

I am still working on my panoramic pictures, but some are better. We had lunch then needed to head out. We had several people to visit and locate up north 40 minutes away. On the way we encountered a traffic delay, a car burning on the side of the road.

We arrived on time and we had a good lesson. The guy is a Pittsburgh steelers fan.

We located the other address and while the missionaries were visiting there we walked around a little. The sun was setting.

Since our arrival here and especially since we toured inside the lighthouse with Jordan when he was here, I have wanted a night picture of it. Since it was less than 10 minutes away and the sun had set.

Well we headed home. I forgot to mention while driving a rabbit was in the road and with no alternative I ran over it. This is not an unusual event at night and there are many dead rabbits on the road each morning especially in the more rural areas. The missionaries were totally dismayed. They talked about this experience the rest of the journey. To grandma and I it was just part of the circle of life. Hopefully they survive the trauma. We got home after dropping the missionaries in Ribeira Grande shortly after 10:00. Pretty good day. We love you all.
