Saturday December 27. Happy Birthday Patrick. Today we went to the feira, which is a street market. It is in the same place each Saturday and another couple showed us the way.
We left at 8 and it was already 80 degrees. Hot and it got hotter reaching 96. We caught the bus and rode about 10 minutes then up to the feira. I would guess it to be about 3/4 miles and goes over the top of a hill making it so are either climbing or descending all the time. We bought a pack full of produce. It probably looks like we shop every day and we pretty much do. I don’t know how to not cook food in quantity that we can eat in one sitting so we have a lot in the fridge and freezer. But even now we will need to buy bread Monday. Back to our trip. We bought 4 large avocados for 1.75, a cut up pineapple for 1.75, 3 tomatoes for .60, a bag of onions for.60, and 14 apple flavored bananas for 2.75. We also bought strawberries for .95.
We rode the bus back home and I got a few pictures of motorcycles they really are everywhere. I still have some problems with my blog site. Right now I keep trying to add pictures and it won’t let me. I made beef stew for lunch and for whatever reason it tastes just like potatoes and gravy. Good stuff. This afternoon it suddenly started to rain and hail and thunder and lightning. Pretty intense for an hour or so. The street we can see from our window was running deep with water. We called Patrick and then I watched BYU win the pop tart bowl game. For us that lasted until bed time. Love to all.
