It’s a jungle out there.

 Sunday February 1.

I was up and gone for a walk at 6:30. I am trying to learn all the areas within walking distance. I have to walk a ways to get to new territory. I think I found one of the places where the people who do day labor gather.

There is the school of rock.

I found a tiny little park really just the area left where roads can go three directions but had some nice flowers.

Then cars in one area with flat tires. Then a chicken in the road.

To the side there was a concrete trail leading into the overgrown jungle. There were avocado trees and huge melons in the trees and a set of steps leading up.

At the top was another road and an exercise park. There was an old wooden screw press I think. An old concrete bench and lots debris. Cool stuff. I continued walking circling to get headed towards home. Huge old vacant houses.

An old jeep

Little out of order there. I ended up back home and got ready for church. It was already hot. Church was good then home and we saw this huge bug making a run for it, so a picture for Ashley.

I made stew. In case you are wondering why stew it has vegetables and meat and stores easily.  Some foods are harder to find don’t keep well, and I don’t know how to cook them. We were in for a lot of rain. I would guess 4 to 10 inches in a couple of hours. The roads were small streams and the water runs down hills very fast. Then it stopped for a while and started again. Pretty intense. There is a lot of noise made by the rain hitting our windows and side of the building and loud thunder after the lightning. We called all the children. Good visits. Late at 10:30 our time we called Sawyer for his birthday. Love to all.

I love the sound of rain, but it sounded like yours was a little intense. I am jealous of the thunder and lightning. It seems like forever since we’ve had a big storm. *Denise*
