This morning we were up and over to pick up the missionaries at 7:30 as they finally came back. We hauled them to their apartment then we came home and went out for an excursion. We drove the car down to the harbor, parked and went for a walk. Ou goal was a guitar store where the young man makes hand made guitars, and does repair work on them. It was a tiny little shop full of hand tools and a band saw ans a sander. He glues all the parts up by hand and fits everything together, the stuff ha had on hand is beautiful. He only had one acoustic guitar finished and he let me play it. It was beautiful and sounded really great.
He had açores guitar and português guitar at different stages of construction. The guitar was a little out of my price range for a leave behind guitar. There were pictures on the wall of famous bands and people who played the instruments made in the little shop by him and his father before him.
We shopped and headed back to get lunch for the elders. We ate then headed out to try and locate inactive members. The weather had changed and it was foggy and gloomy but it was still hot. Sort of like a sauna. We split up and grandma and I followed our phone’s directions to several addresses but 2 were vacant lots and the other no one was home. We had some time to kill waiting for the elders so we walked around.
There is a crater out in the ocean we need to visit when the weather is nice on a p day.
A statue of a dog only found in this part of the world with round ears like a bear, fairly large and a cow dog.
When the elders came back it was getting dark but we had located a place we wanted to see a small church located on top of a mountain with sets of stairs going up in 10 flights.
Well by now it was late so we headed home and I left my blog to write in the morning. Love you all.

The 10 flights of stairs are really cool and look fun to race up and down on! The guitars are beautiful, do you have to leave them in Portugal? I love you guys. Love Ashley!
Cool church!
Those are very interesting and beautiful stairs. Much like the work and beauty put in the temples, the people put a lot of work and beauty into their church.
