Friday August 20. Today I walked by myself for a half hour before going with grandma. I went early so there was little traffic. The temperature is nicer the earlier it is. We even got away a little early on our walk together. This pine tree had the palm tree or whatever it is growing up centered perfectly in front. We made a bit of a large circle and even though we walked several blocks of new territory we ended up on familiar roads all to soon. One thing I forgot to mention when describing the houses, they go up and down hills where one house attaches to the next one the roof line steps up or down depending which way you are going.
As the roads go through dips they step down and then climb back up. There are so many renovations going on as people move in and out. There is no carpet everything is tile. The house outside our window was being redone when we arrived and the work is still going on. They take all the tile up off the floors and walls and start over. They put in new windows and doors with motorized metal blinds on the outside. These block the light and wind and rain yet until really shut tight let some air through.
Grandma and I had language class alone today here in the apartment. We read chapter 1 of BOM. Out load. Slow but steady. For lunch I put together tacos from meat in the freezer and with grandma’s homemade sour cream they were bip (best in Portugal). We had the car this afternoon so we made a quick trip to the store and drove a while.surprisingly nice day to drive being as it is Friday. Not much else to tell of we just somedays carry on just like everyone else. I saw a strange billboard when I was walking alone this morning something strange to see a hammer and sickle on an add.
Strange to be talking about building the future with a communist symbol on the same add grandma liked this metal cover in the sidewalk so I am including it.
As for throwing skye under the bus it was not my intention maybe under a vespa?

I like the house with thee different angled roof especially with the different shades, it also looks like a mansion. It's kinda funny how the palm tree is growing front and center in front of the pine tree. Love you guys! Love Ashley!
