Sunday again

 Sunday August 22. I needed to make sure that the church was open this morning early, so I went over before 9 am. Since everything was good I walked back home and immediately walked back with grandma and we stopped on the way for the Sunday picture by the flowering bush. It is a little dark due to cloud cover, but it is hot and so humid. It is almost miserable. Okay it is miserable. A Brasilian family showed up so we sat with them and it was a good meeting for them as president and sister Barcellos talked and being from Brazil were easily understood. After church we had the elders over for tacos and I had made a cake with strawberries and whipped cream. I always say you can even eat sawdust with enough whipped cream. It was really good. We called all the kids it was great. I saved some pictures from yesterday for today. We came on this white phone booth and it reminded me a bit of dr. Who and Drew and Gail so these are for them. I bought the hat just before it is made from cork. Yes cork somehow hey make purses and wallets and book covers and my first time seeing one hats out of this flexible wood.

Early we stopped to take a picture of some flowers and grandma and I noticed we were in front of a tiny little old church. This is the same little church we have passed by a lot of times but without notice. In fact the one time they were replanting flowers in front to keep the flowers fresh. 

Then I happened to look up and saw the date.

That says 1584. Do you sort of get a little more perspective as to why they have little narrow cobblestone streets and they never tear anything down. That and because everything is made of rock it lasts a long time. 

So back to Sunday it was the hottest day we have spent here not because of the temperature so much as the humidity. In our apartment it was not bad but outside really bad. We are still glad to be here and hope we are beneficial. Love you all.
