Monday August 16. P-day again with all that we did last week it seems like we just have one continuous adventure. We got the car and went shopping and by the time we were done the elders were ready to go. It was overcast with low clouds on top of the mountains. We drove up to the top but we could see next to nothing. So it being after noon we drove down to a small town and bought lunch. We ate at a small local cafe. Good food very attractive.
They had a cool John Deere lamp Skye would love, her mom will need to show her.
We came out and stopped at a nearby whale watching area. But didn’t see any whales.
We then drove back up to the White Castle. Not very big as far as castles go but all we have. The views were nice and it was relaxing just to stop and look out over the green hillside with the trees and the ocean. It made me think of high mountain meadows at home even if we aren’t that high.
We headed back another way and stopped and looked at an old abandoned house.
Complete with flowers. We went on a side road off through the canyons which reminded us of the canyons in southern utah except instead of sagebrush and cactus everywhere is rocks and green.
The road coming in was cobblestone so a fairly old area at the end of the road was what I think is an old abandoned power plant with some graffiti.
Yea me looking through the the hole in the wall. Time to head home. Okay this is a long blog it should make up for some of the short ones. Also too many pictures sorry Drew. Ashley one of my best followers and the one who posts the most comments thank you. So kind and thoughtful. Honorable mention to Denice. For Jim the power is generated by some sort of really clean burning diesel generator I have yet to see one. Love to all.

I really enjoy your pictures I will never travel to this beautiful country so Thanks for sharing your adventures
I love reading about your adventures! The White Castle is small in dimensions but large in intrigue. Were the bars on the window normal or was it a jail of some sorts? The John Deere lamp was very much something that would catch Skye’s eye. And thank you for the honorable mention; I would like to thank my family…🤪 —-Denise
Why did you throw me under the bus Reed?!?! 😂 Sorry, life has been busy with kids back in school and me working part time, I’ll do better! I truly do enjoy reading your blog!!!
P.S.- My mom did tell me about the lamp 😂
The lamp is really cool. The flowers are beautiful and the white castle is really small but very cool and I love the picture at the begining of grandma holding onto the bars in the castle. The food looks very good. Thank you for putting me in your blog it makes me happy. The green hills are really cool and beautiful sights. Love you! Love Ashley!
