Tuesday August 31

Caught grandma with her eyes closed. Today it was a raining so I didn’t get away for my walk alone early. Instead by the time it was nice to go grandma went with me. I go each morning by myself down towards the ocean about a half mile and there is a small park with the playground and a few exercise apparatus. I have been doing some exercises each day for a couple of weeks. No big deal but it gets me out of the way for half an hour or so. But for the first time grandma went with me and took pictures.

There are pine trees of  some sort whose needles are scaly looking long some almost 18 inches and when they blow off on the walkway look like snakes or grandma thinks they look like the tail of a rat.

These trees are so green and symmetrical they look like artificial Christmas trees. Well back home and off to language class and then district meeting. The weather was looking good when we came home. Grandma sure is putting the new door on the washing machine to use. She can’t believe how much easier it is now there is no need to pry it open each time. But in my defense I just discovered the appliance repair shop and immediately got things going. We went with the elders to teach the family of Maauuura as she still has 2 older siblings not baptized. These 4 kids in that family love grandma. They hug us and talk to us write us notes good stuff.

We teach them at a picnic table in the park and I kept looking at the clouds moving in wondering which would get done first as they finished it really started to rain and we rushed for the car. We had a zoom meeting at the church with some of the leaders about an activity they want to start having weekly to encourage the youth and the less active and even involve the non-members. Just when I start to think I can understand these people I run into something like this and think I must have learned a different language 45 years ago. Everyone said in 3 months it would be easier. It’s just 3 weeks away from that. When we hurried into the church it was pouring rain, when we came out it was just a nice cool breeze so we walked home. Nice part of the day. I love you all.

I love the picture of Marcia and the “Bird of Paradise” flower. I wish we had a park with some exercise machines. It would make it funner. Thanks for sharing your days. I enjoy reading about them! —Denise—

Marcia has a way with kids and making them feel special, glad she is able to share that talent with others. Even though her language skills may be a struggle, her unconditional love of others breaks that barrier 💕 Love you guys!

Way to work out grandpa, I think that is really cool that you can do that at a park. Love the flower grandma's leaning over, it's funny how you caught her with her eyes closed. That's wonderful that everyone is nice and I love hearing about how you get along with the kids there, sounds like a fun day and you are doing such a good job with teaching everyone. Love you both! Love Ashley!
