Friday October 15 fly home from Lisbon

 

Today I really have no pictures. Grandma took this picture out the window as we were taxiing to take off. We. Got up at our normal time and decided to walk out to a store and buy some food. The apartment where we stayed is in a poorer section with beggars and lots of people not dressed as nice and lots of older people. They looked like me. We bought yogurt juice cookies and a camdy bar for later. We wen back and ate and grandma cleaned as a couple are coming in two weeks and she wants them to have a clean place to stay. We left at 10:00 our time and began the maze that is the airport system in large foreign cities. Here we check in in literally minutes and go up to the lounge and sit in recliners and enjoy the ac while we wait.  In Lisbon you stand in a line for half an hour having pre-checked in in order to check your bags then a serpentine line for security about half an hour then get dressed again and head off for the gates. At the big cities you weave through a duty free store selling booze, high end watches, chocolate and expensive stuff. We arrived to check the flight screen and grandma discovered she had lost her boarding pass. After a thorough search we backtracked to where she sat to replace all the items she had to remove to pass through security and there it was lying on a table. So back throgh the store and the concourse and we still had to wait half an hour to find out which gate we were to use. We checked in boarded a bus and after about an hour we were airborne. We had the emergency exit row so great leg room. Good flight and not terrible COVID-19 screening and we were home unpacking. We love you all.
