October 2 Saturday

Yea that is our bed. When grandma bought the pillow cases they looked like regular white ones. This side is eyes open and the other they are eyes closed. Normal morning except grandma is determined to track down her package. The tracking says it is here on the island but they can’t find her. So off to the post office.  I didn’t think it would be open but we hung out waiting to be certain. A homeless guy asked me for money. Unfortunately this happens too much. He sat down on the wall by me and I talked to him for about half an hour. He is from a city called Rabo de Peixe or fish tail.  They have the hardest accent to understand on the island and even the members say it is difficult. I talked to him about his family and what could be done to improve his situation. Good language practice but I want to look into the homeless places. We walked around and after checking back and the post office still not open we walked home. We went in the car out to fishtail  to contact a member to remind her of conference and show her the link for it. She has the twin girls and it was their first birthday they were all dressed up but I was too slow to get a picture. The people in many areas get out the hose on Saturday and wash the sidewalk and parking areas in front of the house.
Going home we went off line and ended up in a little town we were not familiar with we were able to drive out and on home. Hard to get lost it’s an island eventually you have to turn and get to an area where you have been. We stopped at the church and I put together a pot of chili for the between conference dinner. Soon it was time for conference. 4:00 it came out good grandma used my headphones and listened in english. The live session for us is in bazilian português so easy to understand. We had such a spread of food. We got to eat a lot of new stuff. Some was good some was different. The cod fish was okay. The chili was the best I have made over here. The members tried it the Americans ate it down. One of the elders put chili on everything. The second session was more difficult to pay attention it was getting late.
After we headed home long day. I love you all.

That's cool that you could understand conference in Portuguese. The food sounds delicious and the sidewalk art super cool. Those little twin girls sound so cute and like so much fun. Love you both! Love Ashley!

Chili for the win! I haven’t attended a conference session at the church house in years…it sounds like a fun gathering there!
