Saturday December 18

This morning when I left to walk it was cloudy but a nice temperature. I returned home and we left soon after for our walk together. It soon started to sprinkle, but being slight we carried on. I carry our nice rain jackets in my backpack so we put them on and continued our walk. Now it was getting with it. It was raining pretty hard. We arrived down by the swimming area and it had only one swimmer.
It was raining and showed no sign of letting up. We turned for home but stopped several times. We bought a few items at the store and they make some neat looking Christmas cakes.

They fill the stores with so much Christmas stuff I wonder where it was stored before they brought it out and where they keep it after Christmas is over. We found some nativity sets in a store still closed that we want to check on later.
We needed to stop at the basement restrooms and even they are decorated with multi colored poinsettias.

We continued home. Our jackets were working great but we were getting wet feet and a little wet on the legs. The water running down the street was getting a little deeper and I tried to keep grandma on the building side of the sidewalk. Yea along came this one car and I blocked the large splash thrown up. Not because I am a hero just because it was the right thing to do. We arrived home I was soaked below the jacket where the car got me. I made pancakes for breakfast and put together some cakes for the Christmas activity at the church this evening. While they were baking I made a batch of chili. The missionaries called and their lunch appointment fell through so we invited them over and grandma cooked a pot of rice. They ate it all up with lots of chili on top. The activity was well attended. We need to have more such. We sang.

Santa came and we had food. What more can you want?

When we came home it was still raining lightly. We had only been home a while when it really started to blow and rain really hard. We are grateful we were not walking when that happened. Good day. We love you all.

I really like the basement bathrooms, the stairs probably aren't fun, but the area is so pretty with the flowers! Good job protecting Marcia, you are definitely her Superman!

I like the flowers and they make cool Christmas things. Are all the roads cobblestone?

I love that you guys sing, it must especially be hard singing in Portageuse. I love their Santa hats with the white braids. That's so cool that Santa came. Love you both! Love Ashley💕
