Today the weather was the nicest we have had since October. It actually got warm enough to drive with the windows down. First thing this morning I went for a walk alone. Arriving back we headed out. There are more flowers in bloom than before, it seems that one day there are only leaves and then flowers.
We continued walking going through a park we often walk through. Remember the pretty poinsettia tree. This is what it looks like today.
They seem to prune the bushes and trees way back here. We walked on down to the ocean and enjoyed watching the ships. There were 2 more large sailing ships in the harbor. The old 3 masted types from before steam ships. I didn’t know there were so many of them out there. They appear to need a large crew and lots of cleaning and upkeep. A couple of modern ships were passing in the harbor.
We went up from the water to look around.one road has the cobblestone laid in ripples like an old time washboard and it climbs like a staircase with rounded steps. The ripples are too close together for easy walking, but still someone put some major work in here. After the climb we went down the other side. There was a small park or garden open we hadn’t visited before so we visited.
The spire commemorates some military excursion that gathered here before settling out. As normal for here more writing about the people who put up the marker or statue then about the event or person being remembered. In out walking we ran into the branch president and his wife they pulled over and talked a minute. We did not plan on going to the farmers market but before long we were walking past so we used the opportunity to buy a little. We headed home and soon started going. We bought lunch to go and delivered it to the members who feed us every week but now tested positive for covid. Afterwards we stopped and had lunch ourselves at the KFC in the mall. At 1:30 that place was so crowded and loud. We stopped in the grocery store after and it was the opposite. We walked right up to an open checkout. Home and then down to visit a member with the elders. But he wasn’t home. We came back and soon went out on visits. We came home late enough to just stay in busy day, but fun We love you all.
