Disclaimer up front. I understand that not everything that happens to us is earthshaking, important, or even entertaining or funny all the time. But this blog also serves as a diary so I just tell it as it happens to us. So now the picture. Last night the wind blew pretty good and it rained some. On my solo walk I found the sign with the symbols of the two political parties, the socialist and the communists all wadded up on the street. I folded it up and on my way home picked it up. After drying and trimming we may use it as a table cloth for a while. Thanks to Jim Jordan and Skye for all the comments. And hard to slip anything past skye I started putting the number of steps each day at the bottom of the post. So for our walk we decided to go shopping again. My idea. Since most stores don’t open until 10:00 we spent the first half hour with grandma window shopping. She located several stores with stuff to try on. The first store was close to an exit overlooking the cemetery we had visited some time in the past, so a few aerial shots.
I returned too early and began holding her coat and purse and asked my opinion. Luckily she didn’t listen to any of them. After an hour we at at a kabobs restaurant. The food isn’t served on sticks but is cooked on rotisserie in big loafs of meat and sliced off n thin slices and served with sauces and veggies. The young missionaries all really love it, but I think it has more to do with quantity rather than quality. We may eat it again if we are not given another choice. Now back to the shopping. We finished off the stores and went after groceries. We needed a bag of potatoes and other stuff so with about 20 pounds of food in my backpack we headed home. But we had missed a store so grandma went in and tried a couple of more shirts. Surprisingly I never complained. The mile plus walk home was good even the uphill parts. Just like the stories her in são miguel it is uphill both ways because it also is downhill both ways. On the way shopping there was a car accident just finished when we arrived l only snuck one picture as we passed with all the people still excited milling around so on the way home I took a few more.
It appeared like the red car just ran off the road crashing into the white car and a light pole. The cars don’t get taken away until the police investigate. And it’s Saturday. Home at last and this afternoon grandma cut my hair and we walked down to the ocean and watched the waves crashing on the rocks. Grandma says it is mesmerizing. Grandma would be right.
One rock someone put wet mortar on and put their hand print. Reminds me of the movie The Croods and especially Pat. Slap my hand and say and she died!
We had a zoom meeting with the new office couple coming the first of November then some reading and off to bed. I love you all.

I am with Marcia; I love to sit and listen to waves crashing. Mesmerizing is a good word for it! —Denise—
I like the aerial shots and the wet mortar handprint! When you don’t have the beauty of the Selway, the ocean will have to do! Glad you are thriving and enjoying your mission!
It's so beautiful there. I love the saying "and he died!" The waves are so beautiful. That would be cool to use it as a table cloth. That is kinda cool that you got a picture of an actual car crash, the cars don't look like they were damaged to bad. Sounds like you had a fun day. Love you both💗! Love Ashley💗!
