Saturday September 25

Today we walked down and went swimming again. The water feels cold at first but after you get in is much warmer than any lake in Idaho. The air temperature is such that when you get out you feel warm immediately and start to dry off and feel all sticky from the salt water. The shower water feels cold but you get used to it. The crabs were back in numbers and I was able to get closer.

I went right in and swam out to a bouy. The waves are fun to just float in as they rise and fall. Meanwhile bacck at the steps grandma is hanging onto the railing as the waves are knocking her around. Some old guys talked to her and worst case good language practice. She swaam out a little but still is a bit timid. I went out and back one more time and then got out.

We walked back stopping off at the farmers market and one grocery store. With the food and our wet swimming suits and towels my backpack was full. After some time at home we went back out and did some more shopping. I came home again with a heavy pack. The appointment we had was canceled and then it started to rain. Looking at the forecast this could go on for a while. We read our chapter from the Book of Mormon out loud in português and it was a long one. By the time we finished we couldn’t stay awake. Who needs sleeping pills or counting sheep, just read out loud in português. I love you all.

That's so cool that you can read the book of Mormon in Portuguese. Those crabs are so cool! Sounds fun swimming there. Love you both! Love Ashley!

I agree! Reading scriptures out loud and especially in a different language do help you fall asleep. Keep that umbrella handy! Caleb says the crabs are cool and Whitney says the swimming sounds fun. I love you!

We saw similar crabs in Kauai…they were creepily cool! I think my mom is 1000% jealous of having the ocean at your finger tips daily!
