September 6

It’s p-day. I went for my solo walk then spent some time reading, playing the guitar, and eating. At 10:00 we were ready to go to the tour of the lava tube. You have to have a reservation and pay 5 euros so I was hoping for something special. We donned hairnets to keep the helmets clean then helmets.
The tour itself was short. You get to walk a short way one direction then turn around and go the other the lava flows are neat, the floor is really rough and I was surprised to get as good of pictures as I got.

We left with a lot of time to just drive and so not using the phone as a guide we set out. Within a half hour we wer in familiar territory. I noticed a what appeared to be a small lighthouse so we headed there. Not so small.

From here we could see a parking lot down by the ocean and lots of waves so we headed there next. We pulled out in a turnout and the water below was amazing. The blue water around the rocks and then in the small basin people were swimming. Strange.

Turns out where the swimmers are that there’s geothermal activity and the water gets warm. When the tide is all the way in not much difference when it is all the way out the water is uncomfortably hot so I need to come back and time it to be here in th middle. Next home for lunch. We cooked burgers and fries and salad. A quick shopping trip. In the mall they are advertising for a road rally this month. One of th cars representing the acores was on display

. We had been getting rain several times today some of the times quite wet. Retuning home we had a mission zoom meeting that we have each ah Monday evening. We took care of some correspondence here in the mission and called it a day. I love you all.

You caught my interest with lava tubes and volcano activity, then you added a lighthouse and crashing ocean waves. Loved it all! Take care and have a good day! —Denise—

That water is beautiful. That is weird about geothermal water. That car looks really cool with the lights around it. The burgers and fries sound delicious. Love you guys! Love Ashley!
