Sunday September 12

This morning being Sunday I had lots of time on my hands. I studied as much as I could take and then got ready for church. Walking over the weather was cool with a slight breeze, perfect. The people arrive in groups as the people with cars drop people off before going back for another load. I was assigned to conduct the meeting and it went well. When church was over we had nice weather again even though it rained during the meeting. I managed to get a new picture of grandma by her favorite bush. I wanted to go for a walk today so I changed out of my suit and had a drink and as I looked out the window I could see a storm coming out in the ocean. It looked just like a blizzard bearing down on us all dark and the wind hit first then the rain. It put down some serious rain for about an hour. We listened to church from back in Pingree and I started lunch. 2 weeks ago I bought some nice pork chops and had put them in the freezer. I had put them in the fridge to thaw and now I started cooking. Dipped in flower and seasoning I fried them in a well oiled pan

while boiling potatoes

and making mushroom soup to make gravy.

Everything came together perfectly and while the last of the chops were finishing I made the mashed potatoes.

What a feast. This was the first time I had potatoes and gravy in Portugal. We were able to talk to all of our children and grandkids today. This all finished up at 10:00 just in time for bed. Still best day of the week. I love you all.
