Today is opening day of elk season so I wore the camouflage suspenders. But back to the early part of the day. We didn’t set out to do this but things happen. After my little walk we left right at 8:00 with a plan to wajk for one hour and turn for home. We wanted to check out a shopping mall we had seen on our last trip here just out of our reach. We didn’t waste any time and arrived. These stores are the onl chain I have seen throughout Portugal and I understand they are throughout all of Europe. We walked around just for a bit then back and over to the nice park from last week. I asked grandma if she wanted to walk back the way we had came or drop off the main road and work our way down to the ocean and walk along it as the sidewalk there is huge and you have a flat walk without all the changes in elevation. I may be a bad influence on her as she said we only have adventures when we try something new. So off we went. Not very far along and we found a lot of greenhouses by standing tall I could see through the only open door pineapple plants. It was where they grow those little sweet pineapples they are so proud of.
Moving right along we soon dropped to the ocean and familiar places. We were just walking along when one of those road rally cars came roaring out and down the road. I was taken by surprise and didn’t get a picture but here are pictures of where they set up with booths and all.
Just pasr there I noticed some tall black masts of a large sailing ship. We had to cross over a short wall but soon found it.
Sure looks like Captain Jack Sparrow has come to visit in the Black Pearl to me. We still had a ways to go so hurried on home. The elders needed the car so we drove to language class. After class we walked to the mall to buy the ingredients for pizza for the ward activity tonight. We bought a bunch and the backpack was heavy (23 pounds) for the mile walk home. I mixed the sauce and helped assemble the pizza but grandma had to make the crust. Meanwhile I had made a teaching appointment and had totake the elders to that. Leaving grandma at home baking cinnamon rolls I walked to the church met the elders and left on foot for the appointment traffic was so heavy we would have had a hard time with the car. I had forgotten how far it was and by time we arrived I was soaked in sweat. The family wasn’t home but we visited a neighbor then walked home checking my phone I was surprised at the distance but again I had walked most of the day. Arriving home we loaded up I changed shirts and off we went with the elders in the car to teach. After this we headed for the church not currently in use. We had the activity there and shortly after arriving I had to drive a member home to get a tv for the video we watched. The way I drove I would have done those rally drivers proud good activity and pizza after.Well we finally went home. As I wrote at the start I didn’t plan this I walked 11.1 miles. I love you all.

I was expecting the camo vest and the walking for sure never forget last year hike to hot rock
It sure does look like captain Jack Sparrow was there. That's a lot of walking, I have to run a mile and a half for cross country and I'm burnt out after that. There's so many pineapples. Love the suspenders. Those cinnamonrolls sounds so good. Love you guys! Love Ashley!
That’s a lot of walking! Those small pineapples sound neat. I have grown to like fresh pineapple…but it still doesn’t belong on pizza 😉
Ton of walking, fitting! Is this the building where the other branch met in the past that is currently it in use?
