Thursday October 7

This morning after raining all night  it was still raining until 7:00. After my solo walk it was trying to rain again so we waited and left a little late for our walk. We walked to the ocean but went a different route. We walked past the only banana tree I know of.

We passed a huge tree that was just blooming. We arrived down at the ocean and along came captain jack sparrow. I was slow with the camera so I hope you can make him out, dread locks and strange clothes and all.

Just after he boarded the black pearl a gal came out and started to climb up the rigging.

Well we kept walking and then on the way home grandma wanted to stop at the tourist office to get a bus schedule. After walking in circles around blocks trying to follow our gps we found it. I am frustrated with having to walk in a direction in order to see if we are getting closer or farther away. The joys of being from an older technology challenged generation. We arrived home tired and hungry. The elders wanted us to go with them to visit a member. They were older he is a firefighter a really neat couple but not committed to living the gospel. I invited them to church and they said they would come October 24 we shall see. They insisted we try octopus cooked their way. Still a bit strange but I ate a batch of it right  down. Can’t expect my grandkids to try things and then me chicken out. Speaking of chicken it didn’t taste anything lime chicken. They dip bread in the juices like we would dip bread in gravy. Moving on, next we had a cake not bad.

Grandma had trouble eating the octopus, but good news she and I are scheduled for supper Saturday with them to have grilled limpets. Yum. Maybe e en try one raw and also some snails. Can’t wait. Grandma is excited. We left there and went to the home of a nonmember brazilian woman and her 10 year old daughter. It was very pleasant to visit them. We finally made it home after a lot of fun and good memories made. We love you all.

I wouldn't eat the octopus at all. The cake looks and sounds delicious. Love you both! Love Ashley!

The one good thing that comes from you guys eating all the gross seafood is that the food I make when you come home will taste exceptionally good and you will think I’m an amazing cook 😂!
