Monday March 14

This morning as I sat at the table I glanced out the window and noticed a cruise ship. They usually don’t come past our window or else I haven’t noticed them. When we picked up the elders from Ponta Delgada we drove down by the harbor and looked at it. It was a big one.

We headed out in search of a place I visited once called the black forest. Even though we were unsuccessful we saw a lot of nice places and stopped to admire many sites. This happens to me all the time when I just turn off on a side road.

We drove through some amazing country. Forests and meadows hard to think we are on an island where so many people come to visit. We ended up coming out of the side road onto the highway at 11:30, so we met the other missionaries in Ribeira Grande at our favorite cafe there for lunch. After lunch they wanted to go to the place we stopped breifly last week with the monstrous waves. We soon arrived and it was fairly impressive.

We drove down a little farther taking pictures as we went then walked out on a point. Good stuff.

We headed back to drop off the missionaries and they all said best p-day ever. It will be tough to follow up on that one. We got home in time to talk with Hunter and he is fun to talk with. We had our zoom meetings, then we had help setting up our new Facebook as Elder and Sister Mecham. We hope to use it to stay more connected to the people here. If anyone wants they can look. Grandma thinks we need to put in English transitions, but I write it in português. Then one of the missionaries showed me how to use a translation app to do it faster. Seems like cheating to me. Loads of fun today. We love you all.

I'm glad you got your Facebook page created. Do you ever see people on the decks of the cruise ship or anyone coming off to go into town? Those ships are quite the impressive sight.
