Monday March 7

Today is p-day and the weather is nice. We were on the road by 8:00 with a busy day ahead of us. We stopped first at the church with all the steps. The missionaries took lots pictures but the one they used the most was of them petting the little calves.

The thing in the corner is for lighting and snuffing out candles. Another picture of grandma.
We drove next to the town of furnas. We went around to all the neat things but I like best the park with the fish tanks and flowers.

We stopped at several lookouts along the way.

Then it was off to the north end of the island to see the famous lighthouse there.

We drove back home grabbed some lunch then the other elders to give them a ride home and show them where they used to process whales. The waves were higher than I have seen. This is by the rock format called the elephant.

Some pictures with the stone whale then home.

On the way black sheep and a surfer statue.

We had our two zoom meetings then started preparing for our trip we had a great day. We love you all.

How many lighthouses are there on the island? Why is this one famous? I love reading about all your adventures. Stay safe and healthy! -Denise-
