Today means 5 more months until we are due to head home. The time really does fly. But also today is a travel day. When we come to the continent we get to go directly to a hotel and drop off our luggage freeing us up to go wherever we want to go. This is not the case on the return. We ate breakfast a little late today and with about 90 minutes until we had to check out of the hotel we headed down to the huge mall we visit in Lisbon.
These pictures are from the hotel looking at the huge bridge the cone looking buildings are the mall.It is very modern with all types of stores. We spent time walking around took a couple of pictures.
We walked back to the hotel in time to check out and began our journey to the airport. With packs and somewhat heavy carryons the walk to the metro was half an hour. Part way through we see the temple in the distance as seen in the cover picture. At the metro we were soon at the airport. We hoped to find a place to leave our luggage but it seems lockers no longer are part of airports probably due to security. We thought about returning to the metro and riding around but all you see is the stations and people. Too many stairs to go up and down for anything else. Each station is about 100 steps below ground. We found some chairs after searching and sat down for about 3 hours. We had a guy from pakistan sit down and he started talking to me even insisted on taking our picture. Then an old guy from holland , again talked more than I wanted, then the line to check in with canadians. Well we breezed through it all and had time for a Big Mac. We would rather have ate at the Kentucky fried chicken but their prices are just plain stupid. And we were on the wrong side of airport security to eat at Burger King. We didn’t have to wait long after eating to board the plane. The plane was packed we saw two empty seats on the whole plane and we got the row with one of them. What a blessing to stretch out my legs. I actually slept for half an hour. We got to São Miguel and the covid test people said they were stopping tests the next day and if we didn’t want the test we could just leave. They didn’t need to tell us twice.
The plane lived up to its name dream. We headed home and all was well. I am always dreading the trips home but glad to arrive back. We love you all.

Again great pictures Lisbon with all the Hotels is quite the tourist destination the time is going by so quickly but back to work they changing COVID mandates here also I guess were survivors
