Saturday January 24.
Well today we were not in such a big rush to get out, but we still left about 8:00. We headed over to the faria to get our produce for the week. Interesting that the prices were a little higher. We bought all the usual stuff and also mangoes and a yellow melon. The colorful food is amazing. I love the way they display the grapes and the peppers.
The bananas. I look at them and wonder how long it takes to get them all on display. So many and different types of. We chose the Prata type although the macca or apple variety is really good also. We bought the smaller ones so we could eat them all before they get overly ripe.
The meat displays had some interesting fish and some kind of hoofs for sale.
We stopped to eat. This time we had the shrimp. We also had the cheese balls. The shrimp was good but no shrimp sauce so grandma was not impressed. There was a building supply store on the route selling sand, cement, and stone. Then home to unload and get ready to go again.
As we were coming and going someone was moving. Brazilian version of U haul.
We rode the metro to go to a place where it is Japanese town. It is a bit of a journey but we just went. The crowds were so large it was uncomfortable. Food vendors selling Japanese foods went for blocks in all directions. Total chaos. We walked in a small oriental garden with fish.
There is a popular bridge we took a selfie.
Still working on that. Grandma said she was getting claustrophobic from the crowds and wanted to go home. We traveled back changing metro lines and having a nice ride but lots of walking. We got of and stopped to get bread. The store also sells tires. Strange to see a tire in a shopping cart.
Then home, late lunch and lying around. We talked to Tanner again and he took us for a tour of the house. This is fun. We need to let the grandkids take us for walks more often. Love to all.12432
