Tuesday February 8

After a couple of days of coughing and sneezing and one of the young missionaries testing positive we bought test kits. We both tested positive, but decided to not share this info too much.In Portugal until just recently you were required to report positive tests and the police would knock on your door sometime each day to check compliance. There have been so many positive tests they could not keep up so no more enforcement. We just stayed home. I do wish I had a bottle of nyquil. The only symptom that is hard to endure is the joint pain. My knees hurt as is seen by the drop in daily steps. Okay enough we canceled our visits telling people we had been exposed to someone with covid and stayed home.so not many new adventures today. I forgot to include one this yesterday. Above where you go to the hot springs is a geothermal power plant. The water comes out at 260 degrees and is used to heat water in another pipe that takes the steam and runs a steam generator. As far as I know it is the only one on the island.

The minerals in the water would quickly ruin pipes and machinery so it heats clean water over and over. We had a nice lunch then we sat around. Wouldn’t you know it when we are stuck inside the internet was down on the island. It was even hard to make calls. Well time to sub (suck it up buttercup). We love you all.

Hope you get feeling better quickly. I asked Randy if that sounded right and he said, “I think so. It’s better than saying slowly. “ 🤪 I have lived on mucinex dm this winter. I tested once after my symptoms seemed a lot like Skye’s but it was negative. I love all the pictures. Do they heat the island with the steam plant? Love, Denise
